Penitential Rite with Imposition of
Ashes and Holy Communion will be held at Tuck Hall, 11 a.m. & 7 p.m. Please
bring any old palm crosses or palm branches you may have not later than Sunday,
the 23rd of February. They will be burned for ashes for Ash Wednesday
St. Stephen's
Lenten Program - "Signs of Life: Why Church Matters"
is an opportunity for participants to engage with elemental aspects of liturgy
and scripture: light, water, food, shelter, community. Each session will help
participants connect the Sign of Life to their own spirituality, Christian
worship, and a spiritual practice. Each weekly session will focus on one of
these key elements of our worship and liturgy, and will consist of prayer,
watching a short video, reflection, and discussion, and will last about an
hour. This program has been written by the Society of St. John the Evangelist
(an Anglican monastic order), and is part of the Virginia Theological
Seminary's Lifelong Learning Program. Programs will run Tuesdays at 11 a.m.,
starting on the 3rd of March, and run through the 31st of the month, at Tuck
Hall. All are welcome.
